River Avon viaduct work

Network Rail has commenced work to strengthen the viaduct between Old Milverton and Hill Wootton. Their contractor, Story, has set up its main compound off Sandy Lane, with a satellite site off Hill Wootton Road. The work will include installing new ballast, masonry repairs and de-vegetation and some of it will be noisy. The project is due to be completed in the Autumn and much of the work will take place overnight and at weekends. There is a project overview in Story’s Access Strategy Plan.
